There was no motion to approve the financial report.
IV. Subcommittee Updates:
1. Communications – Leroy Moody said they are still working on the
tower site. Ski said they are negotiating with the city of Ingleside to secure
that site. Once secured Ski will be getting with the Commissioners about doing
the road for the site. Rick asked if San Patricio County was finished upgrading
all their 800 MHz radios and Ski said yes they are.
2. Exercise Design – Rickey McLester Jr. said they just had another
drill meeting prior to this one. They have set the date for the actual drill for
June 1st. He asked all the Emergency Managers to get their
information to him by April 7th. Rick said RJ Thomas asked him if
Bee, Live Oak and McMullen counties can participate because they are behind on
their required drills. Everyone agreed those counties can participate in the
drill.
3. Hazard Analysis & Vulnerability – Rick McLester said he had
nothing new to report.
4. Health & Medical – Delores Bacon was not present. Missy Beck
said she will give a report for Delores at the general meeting.
5. Public Information & Awareness – Bob Blaschke was not present.
Ski said he is sure they will get the Shelter in Place Program up and running
soon. He introduced Jim Lowery from Global Security and said he will be speaking
at the general meeting on Alert FM Radios. RJ said the radios were awarded to
surrounding counties except Nueces and San Patricio through a grant. Rick and
Stan said their counties received the radios and Jim said he will be happy to
work with them individually to help them get set up.
6. Resource & Funding – Fred Nardini said they are where they normally should be this time of the year. Contributions are coming in as you can see by the handouts. He will give a more in depth report at the general meeting.
7. Training – Ski said he will be out three weeks in April due to the TAC, Floodplain and Homeland Security Conferences. RJ said the city of Ingleside is having CERT training April 8 – 10 and you can contact Shanna Owen for more information. RJ said the COG will be hosting a Basic Incident Command System Course on Monday. There is still time to sign up on preparingtexas.org. The course is free and if you show up to the training center he will get you in. Ski told Rick he has a problem with that website. When you register for a class they only take payment by credit card and the county does not work that way, you either do a check request or purchase order. RJ said he agrees with Ski.
